Looking for an X570 with AM4, ATX design that runs the 3950X smoothly without overclocking. You want WiFi support and a Temp Sensor connector. The best fit would be a model like the ASUS ROG STACER Z690 or MSI MEG, both offering those features and compatibility.

Another independent header option for a thermal probe exists. I’ve only heard about Gigabyte boards offering this, but I’m inclined to consider purchasing a dedicated tool instead of restricting myself to one brand of motherboard.

Consider adding an inline temperature sensor like the one from Amazon to your setup.

Typically, most Asus boards feature 2-pin temperature probe connectors.

Gigabyte boards are available. For a recommendation, consider your specific needs and compare models from both Asus and Gigabyte, along with other manufacturers.

I have a preference for Asus components, though this could reflect personal experience since I own their boards. I’m running a X370 Crosshair VI motherboard for my 3950X and it’s been optimized to 4.2 or 4.3 GHz. I think newer models would still work fine.

I'm checking if we're employing a single integrated block or merely a dedicated CPU module.

Single CPU unit with no cooling would cause my VRMs to operate around 80°C. Since I keep the CPU running near full capacity most of the time, a small fan keeps temperatures in the 60s.

It seems you're considering a simple CPU upgrade without overclocking and an open-air case. Using a CPU block from any Asus or Gigabyte motherboard should work, but ensure the board matches your CPU's socket type and that the case supports airflow.

This applies only to premium ASUS boards featuring powerful VRMs. Focus on the details below—targeting a tier B or higher setup. Check the probe support yourself.
