Hey there, I'm looking for a tough game that really tests your system without just being poorly optimized. Things like Crysis 3 seem to struggle with performance, and Battlefield 4 and The Witcher 3 aren't exactly known for smooth runs. I need a title that genuinely pushes my PC to its limits. It's my first build, but I'm excited about it—I wouldn’t regret investing in this setup. Here’s what I have: CPU FX-8350, GPU R9 390 Sapphire Nitro OC, 8GB RAM (dual channel), Gskill Ripjaw x MOBO Gigabyte 970A-DS3P, PSU cx750m Corsair, and a CM Hyper 212 cooler. It’s not the fastest setup I own, but it works fine for what it is.

Damn, I was thinking about suggesting Minecraft with shaders. Umm... Maybe Star Wars Battlefront? Oh wait, it’s not too bad optimized, just poorly programmed. Try Unengine Heaven. Wait. Not a game. Uh, Rocket League. It’s not super hard to run, but keeping high framerates at high resolutions is tricky.

That’s not just a poorly constructed game like AC Unity and Arma 3. The engine runs as efficiently as possible, and my PC consistently hits around 60+ FPS in single-player. You might be pushing the draw distance to its limit and still experiencing lag. Also, Arma 3 tends to be CPU-intensive, so a high-end processor would likely be necessary to handle your demanding graphics settings.

Witcher 3 can be quite challenging to play in bustling urban areas.

GTA can be tough in Blain County with lush grass settings in Fallout 4. Minecraft is the standard version. Crysis 3 isn't available.

It's safe to say the Crysis 3 skybox remains a standout example of challenging gameplay environments.
