Hey, I’ve got a few spare servers ready for your CCTV project. When it comes to recording software, most folks suggest options that work well with DVR boxes but don’t always match the quality of the hardware they come with. Popular picks include tools like Kodi, Wizcam, and OpenCV, which offer flexibility and good performance for streaming and archiving.

I prefer a Linux-based CCTV system over a Windows one since I believe it offers better security. This option seems interesting: https://zoneminder.com/ It works with IP cameras, analog cameras, and webcams. It also supports RS232, RS485, and I/O PCI cards. Here’s a summary of its features and capabilities: http://www.tuxradar.com/content/build-yo...zoneminder If you haven’t tried this OS yet, feel free to share your thoughts.
