Hey there, I just acquired some components for my initial project, but I'm questioning the motherboard I picked. I went with the Gigabyte B550M DS3H because a forum member suggested it would support future CPU and GPU upgrades. But I notice it underperforms compared to similar boards in its price bracket when used with a strong CPU. My gaming plans are set at 1440p60 high-max settings, and I don’t intend to run productivity apps or heavy multitasking programs. I’m new to motherboards, so I’m hoping you can guide me. I bought it mainly because I want room to upgrade my CPU later, but I’m starting to think it might not be the best value on a budget. If you believe a better-performing board would be more cost-effective for these parts, please let me know. Also, I’d like to know what features are important for a gaming motherboard. Your storage type isn't a concern since you're using an NVMe drive. The number of SATA ports shouldn't impact your setup.
