Sony Vegas doesn't support the 700 series. You should focus on GPU rendering tools that work with your 970 graphics card.

I employ shadowplay yet it doesn't meet my expectations. Additionally, I've saved MSI Afterburner's pre-recorded session at 600 seconds using the lossless codec from lagarith.
