Looking for a reliable tool with a clean interface, such as Malwarebytes or Eset, offering a lifetime license. Avoid services that charge recurring fees or intrusive popups constantly. Prefer something smooth and unobtrusive—like a weekly scan that appears briefly without disrupting your gameplay. It should perform well while keeping costs low and interruptions minimal.

This has been working effectively for many years, likely the most reliable option.

I rely on eset and malwarebytes, but a good ad blocker is essential. Install adblock plus or ublock origin.

I understand the basics, I haven't encountered a simple virus in a while. I always run Malwarebytes since I frequently download files. That's why I rely on it. I also use it for troubleshooting and I've found the paid version works better.

I personally rely on Windows Defender, and occasionally I run Malwarebytes scans, but it doesn’t detect anything.

Kaspersky or Bitdefender – I prefer Kaspersky a bit, but both are excellent lightweight choices. Self-infection is a good method to see which performs better for your needs.
