I believe we should add more emphasis here or suggest some software in general. This question seems to come up often. On the other hand, for free antivirus solutions, you’d likely choose Avira or Bitdefender. Bitdefender is lighter on resources but offers fewer customization options. If you opt for a paid product, consider Bitdefender or Kaspersky. I’d probably pick Kaspersky because their team has uncovered many security vulnerabilities before. You might also explore AVTEST, a third-party service that evaluates antivirus programs (Bitdefender and Kaspersky rank first). Also, consider using Malwarebytes weekly or as needed. Just remember, Malwarebytes isn’t an antivirus itself—use it only for scanning, not as a standalone solution. Don’t accept the trial version and turn it off at startup.
