You're considering an AMD upgrade with a budget under $150. Look into the Ryzen 3 3rd gen kit, which fits your needs and stays affordable. The RX480 is compatible, and the A320M-APRO MAX supports overclocking. Check the link for more details.

This CPU should fit your motherboard for an upgrade. Regarding the Ryzen 3 3100 listing, it’s currently available on Amazon but may still be in stock.

You'd likely need to modify the BIOS first, after which the selected CPU would function properly. That particular board won't support upgrading to a Ryzen 4000, and I believe it could be challenging with some Ryzen 3000 models due to limitations in utilizing the processor's full capabilities.

Avoid the A320 board. This model is better suited; others work well too. If you worry about future upgrades, anything below x570 can't run the Ryzen 4000, and those under it are already out of your price range.

Currently, adding price markups to a 4000 compatible board isn't ideal. A 16x slot with 3000 support seems more practical. Maybe a new board will come along, but a CPU around 175 could work well. It would be better to prioritize a solid CPU and an RX480 card over a cheap board that can't run high-end CPUs. I'm also curious about whether the 1200AF is worth it compared to a 3200G. My old CPU was an i5 7400, so matching performance there would be great.
