There’s a solid case for choosing an x470 or a couple of b450 models. If you can fit the 3950 BIOS onto one, the main concern is the motherboard fan on the x570. It’s hard to understand why they would include proprietary fans on every x570 under $600—it feels excessive. The top-tier x570 units, however, are impressive. Installing a $750 CPU into a sub-$200 motherboard might not be worth it. A high-end x470 will likely offer better performance and important features you need.
Both motherboards appear solid, though the fan issue on the Aorus model caught my attention. I’ve tried an Aorus master board before, but the main concern is the noisy pub fan. Is there a possible x470 with BIOS flashing that doesn’t require a CPU? I’d like to use a Ryzen chip for flashing, but preferably something CPU-agnostic to avoid extra complexity and parts. Any advice would be appreciated. For context, I’m constructing an editing rig and the 3950x has delivered well so far.
