I want to know some models of best and cheapest LGA 775 motherboards that can overclock Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 2.83GHz to at least 3.6GHz.

other items from asus or gigabyte would work well in this list, provided the caps are correct. The asus p5 series was a solid overclocking option. If you locate one, the dfi lan party was known for its overclocking capabilities. Make sure the motherboard you purchase is compatible with the chip, since not all boards supporting the 775 socket also backed later core 2 quad generationsāsome received BIOS updates while others lost support for newer CPUs on older boards.
the only thing you can do is open the bios, start working, and check those links.
it's tough to imagine working with an outdated and obsolete system. unless this is purely for entertainment to push my limits, i can't really say whether purchasing something makes sense unless it's nearly free [opinion].
