It seems the deal doesn't quite add up when you look at the parts. Even though it's a decent offer, a 2700x gain isn't worth it. The 1600AF is just a bit slower than the 2600x model. If you're close to the Microcenter, it might be worth it for the convenience, though. You could get the 1600AF from one seller for $85, but I'm not sure if they include delivery costs.
It's a big jump—2700X or more with just $150. You hit the top performance boost at level 4, 4.3ghz, all cores active (16 threads).
They don't require them, and the gap between that and a 2600x isn't worth $50.
The quoted amount was 40$, and it made sense that it was a flagship model. Would you like me to share some screenshots I have?
Without direct comparisons to a 2600x view is pointless. It doesn't affect the situation because his needs don't require it, and using up an extra $50 would hurt his budget, which is $150 instead of $140. He'd gain significantly more performance by investing that money in a better graphics card.
I completely understand your point. 100% - Frame rates matter more than VGA importance... _______________________ CPU chatter means I won’t take 2600X screenshots. When it came out, I didn’t stay home, I went big. (I have other Ryzen chips, just not that one). From a multi-threaded perspective (like Cinebench), my 2700X performs better than my 8700K (12t)—the 2600X can’t compete with the 8700K in any direction.
