I attempted to install Windows 10 on my new computer and after downloading, it reported a missing file requiring "recovery tools." I tried re-downloading but encountered an error each time stating "collecting data." When booting from the SSD, it indicated no OS was present, and troubleshooting options failed. I also redownloaded the media creation tool on my USB drive, but it reported an issue running on my device.

What file are you saving? Make sure you're using the correct method to set up Windows. You must connect a different machine, then transfer the installation media via USB. https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/software.../windows10 You should not place the tool onto the USB drive itself. Instead, download it to your main computer and run it to install Windows on the USB.

It depends on what you need. Downloading as an ISO gives you a portable version, while putting it on a USB lets you transfer it easily. Choose based on your requirements.
