I wasn't sure if I should place this under storage or software, so I shared it here. Apologies for the confusion. In any case, I'm looking for a reliable data recovery tool. I have two 4TB drives—one blank to restore to and another that was accidentally formatted into RAID 0. It hasn't been written to yet, just stored in the RAID array before I noticed I'd picked the wrong drive. Do you have any suggestions on suitable software? Thanks!

Sure, but the outcomes I received were mainly about ads and didn’t really make a difference. I was hoping for a personal suggestion from someone who’s tried these before.

I maintain a backup of each file on a different external storage device to prevent issues. I previously tried Data Rescue PC 3, which successfully worked on drives that were non-functional for the operating system.

Thanks. Yes, that's correct—I was using my backup drive, but I accidentally connected it during setup.

Recuva performed well for several years before that when I was employed in a PC repair shop.

Give Recuva another go. It may have been a slow process, but it functioned perfectly. Make sure to install it on a different drive—like a flash drive—to avoid interfering with your recovery.

Just installed it. It's time to reinstall the drive and I'm hoping for a successful result. Fingers crossed!

I access http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/PhotoRec. It's not limited to photos; you can choose specific file formats and it works across various operating systems. Good luck with your recovery.
