Hi everyone, I'm looking into selling my PC and need advice on software to prepare the HDD. I want to securely wipe the drive beforehand so the buyer can't access any stored data. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks! -ces160

DBAN offers a cost-free solution that functions well: visit its site at http://www.dban.org/. Processing large drives may require time, though this applies to most HDD erasing tools.

Access the disk management tool, format the storage device, and skip enabling the quick format option. This action will erase everything, even deleted files, making recovery impossible. No software can restore any data afterward.
