Sharing feedback on setup ideas is what I'm doing here. Just a heads up: if you're not familiar with Star Citizen, you might be in the wrong place. The discussion focuses on current configurations and what works best. I'm testing weapons like Ominsky IV, various badgers, suckerpunch distortion, neutron cannons, a sawbuck, and a longsword—though I'm still figuring out reload strategies. Energy weapons seem to be my go-to, and I've heard the gatling gun is effective for smaller targets. On RSI forums, Ominsky's are popular due to their range and damage. My main focus is on badgers (including panthers) for medium/short-range combat, though they slow down a lot. I haven't much used suckerpunch yet, but I think it's worth experimenting with. Neutrons work decently as C1 weapons. Any advice on weapon choices or setups would be appreciated. Also, have you tried the new shields?

Ominsky has consistently performed well. Previously they excelled at hitting hard hitters with slow shots, but now they’re quicker. While I’m not sure about their impact on damage, I own them but haven’t used them much. Most of the time I stick to a stock load-out. I favor Ominsky over Longsword since its bullet speed is better. I have no idea what they do with shields.

Longsword appears to require ammunition. Is there any method to reload mid-flight? Or is your current supply all you have until you're defeated—or does it magically restore itself? Regarding your stock situation, you own two ships that aren't flight-capable. You have two loaners: a black cutlass and a basic hornet. Both feel like imitations compared to your vessels, which are superior. I hope they could lend you the better option. Flying stock becomes unreliable, especially if you risk dying at waves 8 through 10...

unfortunately the ship's worth comes from in-game rarity instead of actual performance. 3-4 hits for a lower-class Vanduul are easy to miss, but deadly if you land a hit in an Aurora; however, they overheat quickly. Longswords deal 5-6 hits to take down a target, which can strain your engine with a direct hit but won't kill you. They overheat by round 12 if cooling fails, making them a solid choice for staying in the fight despite slow shooting and poor tracking.

It's odd that both are anniversary editions, right? Maybe only basic weapons can be borrowed—so they might lend me just a simple cutlass or a basic hornet. What would they give you if I had an idris or a connie?

Anniversary editions are merely added protection, uncertainty about rentals is unclear.

The top basic Hornet or Cutlass vessels available are currently what I understand. It seems unlikely they’ll alter plans until more multi-person ships become operational.

I really enjoyed the Mantis Gatling on the Hornet in AC 0.8, though it heated up quickly. The M4A tends to be a slower shooter, but hitting 3-4 shots from two of them can take down a Scavenger, and they usually run out of energy before things get too hot.

I understand exactly what you're referring to. You own a Dur and have the basic loaner with no side shields and two repeaters (misses mostly, possibly over 14 rounds). Usually I manage around the 18th wave, but that depends on the situation.

It's a well-known saying, especially after I started using full decoupled flights, I perform much better.
