Hello! I'm setting up a PC for a friend who mainly uses it for 3D work, Photoshop, Premiere, and light gaming. I've shared details about my build on both the GPU and MONITOR forums. My original plan was: CPU - Ryzen 5 3600 + EVO 212 (~250€), RAM - 16GB 2x8GB @ 3200MHz (~80€), Motherboard - GIGABYTE DS3H B550 (~100€), PSU - 500W (~50€), SSD - 500GB NVMe (~60€), GPU - likely RX 580 4GB (~130€), and Monitor - 1440p BenQ BL2420 (~240€). I'm now considering upgrading to a 3700X with the Wraith Prism for 310€, which would save about 50€. I'm wondering if the DS3H can handle that model and whether it's worth the change instead of sticking with the 3600 for this workload.
Also thinking about future upgrades. Given that AM4 support ends soon, would swapping to a 3600/3700x make sense for moving to a 5000-series chipset? Should I stick with the 3600 and upgrade later, or buy a better board now for more options? Also, X570 boards are about 40€ more—worth it if you need more flexibility down the line?
