Hi everyone, I set up an external USB for installing Windows on another machine, but I didn’t save my files and now they’re missing. Can anyone help me recover them? Thanks!

In your situation, the USB stick was formatted with a small partition, which is sufficient for its purpose. It's possible that a quick format was applied, possibly helping you recover some data despite the erasure. Use a file recovery tool to transfer the recoverable files to another drive. Recuva would be a good option. The files are likely corrupted.

Review the PHOTO-REC tool. It helped fix issues with damaged USB drives.
