This is primarily an issue with slow software's opening time. I am currently using a 7900x with B650E-F motherboard, RTX 3080, and 3 m.2 SSDs. When I have the graphic card installed, my software have significant delays when opening them, like up to 15 seconds. When I remove my graphic card, the software will open instantly with no noticeable opening time. Is this a CPU PCIE limitation? Or motherboard's limitation? Per the motherboard's spec, it did not say anything about m.2 slot sharing lanes with x16 slot, for the ones connected to CPU directly. I have 2 gen4 SSDs and 1 gen3. Slot 1 have gen4, slot 2 have gen3, and last slot gen4. I have tried rotating the drives around the slots; same outcome. No matter how I arrange them, software will launcher very slowly with my graphic card installed.
You should look at the PCIe slot for your graphics card. To verify, enter the BIOS, navigate to general settings, then PCIE subsystem settings, and check the PCIe link speed to see the GPU's connected speed.
Steam runs smoothly despite some odd behavior. It made me consider network speed or PCIe lane issues. Bandwidth seems fine as long as it's at the right rates.
Confirm this point. Ensure your chipset and BIOS are current, plus network adapter drivers are installed.
It shouldn't be that way since the 3000 and 4000 series don't support PCIe 5, which means you're still limited to half the available bandwidth.
BIOS version 1222 Shipset V5.01.03.005 everything appears normal. A 32-bit Steam background process starts when I open it. After some time, Steam’s collection of tasks will appear in the app list. If Steam is already running, it launches a second 32-bit Steam task in the background, and later combines the client service with the client webhelper into a single application.
