Hello guys, just wanted to know if there's anyway to check what type of Die RAM chips use, BEFORE purchasing and checking with apps like Thaiphoon Burner? Was looking at this kit for my Ryzen 9 5900X: G.Skill Trident Z Neo DIMM kit 32GB, DDR4-3600, CL18-22-22-42 (F4-3600C18Q-32GTZN). I believe the chips in this kit are Samsung, just not sure if it's E or B-Die..

Have you considered ways to verify compatibility and performance before buying the RAM?

You should look for the model number on past discussions, such as on Reddit or similar platforms.

Asus's QVLs indicate the memory employs Hynix chips. Based on the speed and timings you anticipate, CJR is commonly used by G.Skill generally. The document suggests a single-rank configuration, likely a 16Gb MFR.

Interesting... while checking the QVL for the motherboard I bought (X570 Strix-E), it lists Samsung instead of Hynix. Based on the timings, I think Hynix is likely as well, since Samsung's B-Die chips are usually below CL16, but the QVL table contradicts that. I originally wanted to purchase a G.Skill Trident Z Neo 32GB DDR4-3600 kit with CL16-16-16-36 (F4-3600C16Q-32GTZN), but it would cost around 340EUR—about $350 in my country—which feels too high for the extra $100 on RAM and lower timings. Since my system will run a 1440p/1440p ultrawide, I doubt the difference between CL18 and CL16 will be significant. @Grabhanem :

For high performance without breaking the bank, consider Micron Rev. E. It seems to be included in many Crucial and Teamgroup overclocking packages.

@ShrimpBrime, you're right to notice this. I checked the website before and the kit didn't appear. It's listed under Samsung on my motherboard's QVL, but @Grabhanem says it shows SK Hynix in another QVL. I'm wondering why that discrepancy exists—I think the referenced link might point to an error in the QVL details.
