You're looking to see if adding a third fan will improve performance after switching from a 120mm AIO cooler to a Thermalright Assassin. With two fans already installed, it's worth checking if the third fan can boost airflow and cooling efficiency without overcomplicating things.
I added the third fan just for the sake of it. You're correct, it probably makes only a small difference—maybe a couple of degrees. Thanks for your feedback. I don't really like this cooler. My CPU is still running at 80°C. I might consider swapping it out for something better. Do you have any suggestions on what to choose? I have an i7-9700 and my case can only fit a 120mm AIO, so an air cooler seems best. Or perhaps a new case would be more suitable.
Wouldn't it be better to place it in a designated area? Or are all those spots already taken?
It's okay at 80 degrees. It shouldn't affect the system. If your cooling isn't working well, the processor will get very hot. You can't change that.
80C is a typical operating temperature for numerous processors, how about your setup?
