Both devices are part of the same Workgroup? Right-click your computer. It will show the name and workgroup. Are both PCs in the identical workgroup? Usually it should be set as default—use the capital letters WORKGROUP to match. If everything is configured correctly, you can proceed without entering an IP address. For some systems, typing the PC name with a backslash instead of IP might be necessary: Start > Run \\Computer2.

Lol, that doesn't seem right. It should be pressing Windows key plus pause to open system properties, but my PC isn't working that way. I'm using a Microsoft keyboard, but another PC with a Logitech works fine... haha. Edit: Just ignore it—my MS keyboard has an F-Lock key and had to turn that on first.

They work. I tried it in Win+R and got no changes, only an error message appeared.
