From the manual, it seems this USB port is meant solely for flashback function, and there’s no specific guidance on connecting a USB pen drive.

Bios flashback applies when your BIOS is damaged, such as being corrupted. Insert the USB drive in a different port, access the BIOS settings, and utilize the update tool there. Through this tool, you'll need to locate the USB drive containing the BIOS file and choose it. Verify it matches your motherboard model for accuracy.

After I damaged the AsRock MoBo, I'm really careful now. That's why I'm so cautious.

Those with Bitlocker enabled face potential risks if the software is compromised. It may expose sensitive data or leave systems vulnerable to attacks. Always ensure Bitlocker is properly configured and updated.

No, you don't need to rename the file using Bios renamer before updating.

Before updating your BIOS, verify your CPU's current performance. Install HWiNFO64 and perform a stress test using Prime95 with short FFTs for an hour. Capture the results. If you lack a dedicated graphics card, use Furmark, Unigine Superposition, Cinebench 2024, or 3DMark for GPU testing. Take screenshots of the outcomes. Download and install PCMark, execute the tests, and save the results. After the BIOS update, download it alongside the ME file to the same directory. Launch ME and rename the update file accordingly. Place the file on a USB drive, restart your system, enter BIOS by pressing delete, exit to easy mode via F7, navigate to Tools and select EZ BIOS flash. Insert the USB drive if removed before restarting, choose it from the device list, and proceed with the update. Wait for the process to complete. Review the changes by repeating the testing steps and comparing the before-and-after screenshots. Edited October 13, 2024 by TPCEA corrected Otto Rong's malicious alteration.

Thank you for your question. The difference lies in how the BIOS file is handled. Renaming the file ensures it’s properly identified and avoids conflicts, especially when multiple users update it. Copying without renaming might lead to confusion or issues with system recognition. It’s best to follow the recommended naming conventions.

Bitlock is a disk encryption tool designed to safeguard your information when physical access is possible, such as during theft of a computer. When activated, it alerts you if the drive is accessed on another machine and secures your data by requiring unique decryption codes. These codes can be stored in your Microsoft account, on a USB drive with embedded keys, or printed out. During BIOS updates, Bitlock triggers to prevent access if the drive is detected elsewhere. Without the necessary keys, recovery becomes impossible. Occasionally, the keys aren't visible on the Microsoft site, particularly with local logins.
