I've been thinking about upgrading for over a year now. I'm only into 1440 gaming and mostly play older titles, but I'm curious if buying a 5070 will be a mistake when I see the specs for a 5070 Super. What are the chances of getting a Super at MSRP? If it's not possible, how long will the wait be? Only the physical store is a Micro Center, about 85 miles away.

Similar to all products, obtaining something at the advertised price isn't accurate during the initial launch. Additionally, there are whispers that the Super models might become available later this year or a couple of months after 2026 arrives, as I believe. The main concern is whether it's worth waiting. On a separate point, could you share the make, model, and age of the PSU in your build?

I mainly play older games from 2022 and earlier, not really into a lot of new releases but you never know what comes next.
My current setup is 2070 Super and the Ryzen 3600 have been great for me over the past five years. I’m considering a fresh build but I’m not sure yet if it’s necessary.
I’d probably get a Ryzen 7600x, maybe wait a bit before upgrading to something like the 5070 Super. I also saw that a PNY 5070 OC is available at Walmart for around $430—it’s a really good deal.
If I were to build something new, I’m not sure what would be better compared to a 5070, especially with higher VRAM and the games I play.

I expect the new super cards to sell above their MSRP for many months. I think it's likely around 20%. The 5070 at $430 seems like a solid offer.
