Hi, I see you're trying to get the best performance from your current setup. With a 100/40 connection and a distance of about 10-12 meters, you should be able to use the available channels effectively. The older models you mentioned are still functional, but newer options might offer better efficiency and features. Within your $300–AUD budget, consider checking for deals or refurbished units. ASUS, TP-Link, Netgear, and R7000P are reliable brands—look for promotions or local store discounts. If you need help comparing specs or finding the best price, just let me know!

I chose the TP-Link Archer C9 AC1900 after some investigation. It meets every requirement so far. I'll let you know if anything shifts for others seeking the same info.
