Now that Black Friday is near, I was thinking about upgrading my Ryzen 7 2700X to get better performance with my RTX 3070. I’m still using the ASUS ROG Strix B450-F gaming graphics card, so I’m stuck with the AM4 chip. Between the R5 5600 and R7 5700X, I’m still deciding which one fits best. If you have any other advice, feel free to share.

Thr 5700x seems a bit wasteful. The 5600 is really affordable and works great. I’d add the 5600 for $129. If you need high refresh rate gaming, go with the 5800x3d.

For a gaming experience, consider 5600x or 5800x3D if funds permit.

For peak performance you'd choose the 5800x3d, while the 5600 offers solid value.

I recently got a 5600 for $129, moving up from the 3600 on a B350. It turns out to be quite impressive. PBO performs exceptionally well. I really enjoy the 5600 and feel it offers great value. It’s possible to overclock it to 4.7 without much effort. There’s a clear boost in frame stability, especially noticeable with my 6700xt. It’ll definitely surpass your 2700.

A mix of both seems likely, possibly for video use.

5600, 5700x and 5800x will behave almost identically in gaming. For video editing, more cores are advantageous. A 5700x will generally outperform a 5600x. A 5800x3D is ideal for gaming but comes at a higher cost.

Got it, I'll choose 5600 and keep some cash aside.
