Hello forum. So I finally have time to start recording gameplays (mainly for friends haha). I have Dxtory, Audacity, fraps, OBS, and I believe a program that lets me send sound source to different lines (I forgot the name currently.) EDIT: The program is called Virtual Audio Cable So I need some help with setting up. 1) Which program should I stay with recording wise, between OBS and Dxtory (I heard Fraps works well with flash games) 2) How can I prevent frame drops overall? 3) How does one record Voice, game sound, and skype separately? Lastly, any advice is definitely appreciated! My specs: i7-4770k stock speed 8gb XMS Corsair RAM DDR3 120GB Samsung Evo SSD 500GB Western Digital HDD (For games) 1TB Seagate Barracuda (The recording destination) GTX 780 Superclocked. Thanks guys!

1) Dxtory serves as the recording tool, while OBS functions as an encoder or streaming application. Choose whichever suits you best. You may use them individually or together (use Dxtory for recording within OBS).
2) Frame drops shouldn’t be an issue when recording locally with this configuration. Usually they arise when the software consumes excessive RAM or CPU resources. Adjust your settings and everything should work fine.
3) This may be challenging. Game and microphone feeds are straightforward as they originate from separate channels. Unfortunately, OBS only captures a single merged audio stream, so you must decide which feeds to combine and which to process with Audacity. There might be options for recording multiple channels separately, though I’m not aware of any. Or consider investing in more affordable alternatives if needed. For Skype, select the output channel carefully—use the virtual audio cable and ensure it differs from the game’s audio.

@ LoGiCalDrm You're welcome! I reviewed all my Dxtory configurations via various sites and videos, and adjusted settings that weren't fully optimized for my system (especially turned multithreading on).
