Before setting up Nobara, ensure you complete any necessary steps. After installation, check for updates and verify all settings are configured correctly.

I personally don't use any Fedora-based distros, but I do know it's a well-documented kernel. It's a matter of curiosity and experimentation. Don't be afraid to accidentally brick your install, too. Oh, and don't use ChatGPT for tutorials: It's unreliable.

Installing apps can be a bit puzzling, but otherwise I should manage to get the basics down

The selection was made to enhance gaming performance, as that was the intended purpose.

I just wanted to change things up a bit. Nothing too serious.

I along with around 100 people who have installed on Linux Mint using Cinnamon, find it similar to Windows but more logical, user-friendly, and dependable. The reliability here is quite different from Windows, which has often been problematic. Many have switched to Linux in recent years for these reasons. There’s a solid discussion forum for Mint where any issues you face are addressed.

Fedora stands out for its stability and comprehensive documentation. In my view, it’s an excellent starting point, particularly a version designed to simplify setup through extensive initial configuration. Plus, it’s clear that the support materials from communities and wikis can be very useful.
