Hey everyone, new to overclocking, but I'm trying to boost my Intel X4 860K. I have a Corsair H100i water cooler and an ASUS A88X Pro RAM stick. I need clear instructions on how to achieve a stable overclock and what steps to follow.

It should be nearly identical for every module.

I discovered the most reliable overclocking setting for my Anthlon 860k at 4.3ghz. Examining the various levels of this CPU reveals that the top performance reaches up to 4.3ghz. Manufacturers typically set all models to run at this frequency, but they reduce it to stay within safe temperature limits. I installed a Cooler Master Hyper 212 evo aftermarket cooler, which allowed me to maintain stable overclocking without adjusting voltages. I also used the same Asus A88x plus motherboard as yours, making it simple to modify the BIOS settings and keep the speed consistent even when launching less optimal programs. I believe with some experimentation, you can push it further, but since I’m still new to this process, setting it and leaving it alone worked well for me. Feel free to ask if you need more details!

I discovered the most reliable overclocking setting for my Anthlon 860k was around 4.3ghz. Examining the various levels of the CPU, you’ll notice the top performance runs turbo to that speed. Manufacturers typically set all CPUs to 4.3ghz, but they reduce it to stay within safe temperature limits. I installed a Cooler Master Hyper 212 evo aftermarket cooler, which allowed me to push the speed up to 4.3ghz without adjusting voltages. I also used the same Asus A88x plus motherboard you mentioned, making it simple to tweak the BIOS and keep the overclock stable during booting. While more experimentation with voltage adjustments could push it further, I found it straightforward to set it and leave it alone. Hope this gives you some useful guidance, and feel free to ask if you need anything else!
