Hi again, As far as I know, even though the monitor won't be able to display the higher frames per second constantly, it still feels smoother to flick and aim with as high an fps as possible. That's why many people play on very low settings even though they usually have comfortably 144-fps-consistent PC's. To back this up, here's a video from a popular CS:GO Youtuber: Thanks in advance, Jacob

Unclear why you're aiming for double the refresh rate. I'm using mobile at 4 a.m., and it feels noticeably better than what I see.

I'm using a 7700k and a 1070, with smooth performance at 300 FPS on every map. With your budget you should be okay. Right now I'm playing at 720P, but even at 1080p I maintain around 300 FPS. You could push higher, but I cap it at 300.

I5 6600 paired with a 6GB RAM setup, I consistently reach about 300 fps at 1440p in D2 and other maps—usually between 240 and 300. Trying to boost FPS doesn’t really help because that’s the level I’m already at. My friend with a similar build but a 6600k at around 4.4 manages roughly 350 fps on most maps.

Yes, but for serious competition you need far more than just a high refresh rate. If you're looking to spend more than $200, consider getting an Intel graphics card for CSGO.

Hello everyone, thanks for your reply. I see others doing the same and some streamers setting their FPS cap at 300. What’s the reason behind it? Appreciate your insight, Jacob.
