Tips for boosting PowerColor RX 460 performance
I'm trying to boost my RX 460's performance by increasing the core clock past 1250, but memory clock drivers keep failing. I'm unsure if adjusting the power limit helps or what it actually means. I'm using MSI Afterburner for this task and need advice on whether to raise the power limit and how it works.
Avoid touching memory clock as it may lead to instability. Begin with core clock. Increase the clock gradually, such as by 10 mhz or 20 mhz. Raise your power limit to its maximum capacity to provide extra overclocking room. If issues arise, consider unlocking voltage control and boosting GPU voltage. This might raise temperatures, so create a custom fan profile and set the fan to near full speed around 70°C to maintain low chip temperatures.
You may achieve 1330 mhz or higher with overvoltage up to +80 mV.
From what I understand, your drivers are limiting your overclocking software like afterburner. Previous versions had problems with third-party overlocking tools. Visit their website and download the latest updates.
