Tips for boosting performance on GTX 1050 Ti
I own a Zotac GTX 1050 mini that isn't factory-configured. I have the Zotac software which lets me adjust the frequency to arbitrary values. Since I'm new, I need guidance on setting the right frequency. Also, do you have any better options for overclocking and monitoring?
every card will increase its speed by a varying degree
general estimate suggests a boost of about +200 MHz for the core and +500 MHz for the memory
starting with lower settings and gradually increasing is recommended
It's good to know whether you should worry about damaging the card by overusing it.
no you won't break it
even with added voltage
modern cards only permit a minimal voltage increase
in afterburner, for example, if you enable overclock and select the load option during Windows startup, you must remember the override key in case the system fails to boot properly
thus, in afterburner you should press the ctrl key when it boots into Windows to override your overclock
other programs might require a different key
all cards will be overclocked to varying degrees
general estimate is about +200mhz for the core and +500mhz for memory
start with lower settings initially and gradually increase
this approach feels arbitrary, particularly with Pascal cards
I’d rather leave it alone; NVIDIA Boost 3.0 will handle overclocking automatically
if you need an additional 50mhz, install MSI Afterburner and try it
random and an additional 50MHz would make the card perform much better than the standard NVIDIA boost. It would reach around 400MHz on the core and 1000MHz on memory.
