Hi. I'm new to this forum, Has anyone got any tips on overclock profiles for Ryzen 5 3600X? I've tried manual overlocking but it has been much more difficult than my old Ryzen 5 2600 and not managed to achieve anything better than stock performance. It responds well to the auto overlocking in Ryzen Master but I would like to squeeze a bit more out of it. My target is to play most modern games at medium/high on my 1440p 75Hz ultrawide so I've done some light tuning to the GPU to help. The specs of my setup are: Motherboard - MSI X570 A-Pro CPU - Ryzen 5 3600X CPU Cooler - Noctua NH-U14S RAM - 2x8GB Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200MHz C16 GPU - Gigabyte RTX 2060 Super Gaming OC 8GB SSD - Sabrent 1TB Rocket NVME M.2 (OS drive) PSU - EVGA SuperNOVA 550 G3 - 550W 80+ Gold Case - Corsair SPEC-DELTA Carbide Mid Tower I've benched the setup on 3DMark so there is reference data as well. Time Spy - https://www.3dmark.com/spy/16927126 Time Spy Extreme - https://www.3dmark.com/spy/16928785 Also, spotting if there are any bottlenecks in my system specs would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Bill

Your maximum operating temperature during a stress test should be specified in your documentation.

Well.... I have the same CPU and video card as you do essentially... Our main bottleneck while gaming is the GPU which isn't very great. Regardless the X model is already clocked so high there isn't much more performance to be had and I've tried a couple of times but apart from Auto OC I got worse off with the overclocking compared to stock. Like 4300MHz. Try tweaking your memory but again, the GPU will still hold you back unless you turn down the graphics far enough.

I just completed a Time Spy stress test and the highest temperature logged was 72.7°C on the CPU, which feels pretty typical. @aDoomGuy I’m a bit let down since I hit 2600 at 4.1GHz without any problems. My budget for this build last year was £800, so it wasn’t possible to significantly upgrade beyond what I already had.

That is a normal temp. What was your Time Spy scores? Don't get so hung up on nombers, we have good IPC on our chips and that cache... Here is mine if you wanna compare. SCORE 9 467 Graphics Score 10 015 CPU Score 7 229

It seems you're still working on improving your setup. The numbers look like a solid baseline—your GPU is handling the load well, especially with the auto curve and higher memory speed. Keep refining those settings!

I got a heavily upgraded cooler on my ROG. When I hit that score, it was the best graphics rating for 2060 Super with 3600x on Time Spy, but reaching it wasn't straightforward and I can't consistently get there anymore. Just push your fans up and tweak the core one by one until the limits hit, then repeat with the MEMS until you succeed. I appreciate that approach, actually. Some of my friends wondered if I built the PC just to run those tests or if I’m planning to play games on it too.
