I believe h.264 relies on AVX instructions during encoding (though I'm not entirely confident about this). I also observed that my CPU experiences maximum strain during the RealBench benchmark, especially when the fan speed increases as the mouse movement progresses and then stops. The process appears to involve multiple short videos being encoded before switching to another task in the script. My practical testing includes encoding several long films at once to create a high continuous load on the processor for an extended period. These older, unrestored cinema films likely pose a challenge for the encoding engine, which is why stability remains crucial.

It's true, there aren't many modern things that fit well with old systems. I have to search for a DX9.0c SDK just to enjoy some classic games.
