I've been enjoying For Honor on a laptop that wasn’t designed to handle it, but it runs smoothly at a respectable frame rate (30-50 fps). Recently, my laptop’s 1 terabyte hard drive failed, and I acquired two 500 gigabyte drives to replace it. The performance has been stable up until a few weeks ago, when I began observing significant drops in frame rate occurring every other day or so. Occasionally, the game runs at a suitable fps, but then the next day it’s limited to only 20 frames per second. What steps can I take to resolve this issue? Please note that I have limited experience with computer hardware and unfamiliarity with technical terminology.

The model is Aspire E5-476G. As for the hardrive, I got it repaired in a local computer repair shop that my aunt trusts so I don't know.
The issue might be connected to temperature fluctuations. Could you please share your laptop’s internal temperatures while playing games?
I'm unsure of a specific explanation beyond the fact that it becomes warm. However, I’ve observed that my frame rate decreases on colder days, and my latency also increases. I suspect this is due to a lower FPS rate, which I can verify using Uplay’s built-in counter.

the 1TB hard drive your laptop came with is already somewhat slow only running at 5400RPM and I doubt they would´ve given you an even slower one. It could be temerature related like Steven said
