You can still be at risk even if the file appears clean in Popcorn Time. Since the service only caches the torrent, clicking and dragging might not fully verify the content. Always double-check the source and consider using a trusted alternative.

As mentioned, it was a custom torrent I created. Please let me know if that wasn’t obvious. This isn’t from a movie—it’s just gaming clips I shared to try something out. It was originally on my old computer and could have been infected. Sorry for the confusion.

Usually viruses can't cause harm unless they're executed, and I assume no smart torrent client would run a torrent if it's executable. If it's a video, I'm not sure but Popcorn Time *might* isolate the video so you should be fine. No assurances though.

When it comes to real videos, they won’t execute harmful code. If you send them to a BitTorrent client, you’re guaranteed the file you created will be exactly what you expect to receive.
