Basic inquiry – you mainly use your PC for gaming and music creation and are weighing the Ryzen 3600 against the 3700X. You have the budget for a higher-end chip but aren’t sure if the extra $100+ is worth it. Also, you’re curious about typical OC speeds for both chips. Thanks ahead!

Steve from GN has clearly compared a 3600 with a 3700x, mentioning additional options like a 9700k and a 3900x. Check it out to see if the extra price is justified. As before, especially with Zen 2, overclocking usually adds little overhead, though chip performance will set the ultimate boundaries. From the factory, they start close to stability limits.

Opt for turning on PBO, add a solid cooler, and let Ryzen handle the rest automatically. This setup typically delivers optimal performance.

I don't understand what pbo refers to. Could you provide more context or clarify the term?

Precision Boost Overdrive is an AMD feature that acts like an automatic speed increase, available through the BIOS settings.
