Tiger Lake offers an 8-core processor suitable for demanding tasks like 3D rendering, AI work, gaming, video editing, and more. Consider whether to wait for the Tiger Lake release or invest in an AMD Ryzen 4000 laptop. The rumors suggest Tiger Lake H series will provide 8 cores and 16 threads, making it a strong option.

we don't know much about their performance because none have been released yet. it's best to wait.

Tiger Lake isn't doing well today because it's hard to purchase and won't be available for another six months at least. We haven't noticed any performance issues with Tiger Lake U yet, only Tiger Lake H. Intel appears to be focusing more on GPU power with Tiger Lake, while 45W models already have dedicated GPUs built in.

Intel's roadmap doesn't guarantee anything, but they're focusing on Tiger Lake U.

It seems unlikely it's still using Skylake with a weaker FPU and the same IPC... :I (though others mentioned we haven't observed it yet)
