I purchased two Dell Precision 3660 workstations equipped with RTX A4000 graphics cards. They’re more than sufficient for the video editing tasks your team handles in-house at the hospital. Regarding the question of self-build, we’re limited by contract agreements and must rely on approved vendors for service and maintenance. Our previous models (HP Z840) had SAS ports that connected to external LTO tape drives for archival purposes. As part of our transition, I acquired an OWC Thunderbolt 3 LTO drive because the spec sheet indicated the 3660 supports a Thunderbolt 4 add-in card (see page 7 of the Dell technical support document). There’s a 10-pin TBT header on the motherboard (photo included; assume it’s Thunderbolt). Despite this, I’m struggling to locate a compatible Thunderbolt card. We initially used ASUS TB4 cards but discovered they had a unique pin layout. I’ve checked Dell’s website and major retailers like B&H and Newegg, but no compatible options appear in the listings. There’s no documentation or images showing the pin configurations. Both Dell’s support team and online help have been unhelpful. Could anyone suggest a suitable replacement? Or would it be helpful if someone with experience owns a Dell TB PCIe card and could share photos of the pin arrangement?
