I need to check which Thunderbolt add-on supports your setup. Your MSI MAG Z590 has a JTBT1 connector, while the MOBO you own uses a 5-pin connector. The OWC Thunderbay 4 also requires a compatible adapter. Make sure you use a Thunderbolt 3 or 4 add-on that matches both your motherboard and the card’s connector type.

Thank you for your feedback. The additional card works only with ASUS boards. I'm struggling to locate a version that fits your MSI setup.

You seemed uncertain about compatibility. Unaware if MSI backs Asus gear and firmware. You might need another Asus board instead. If MSI offers something comparable, I'm not sure. But the equipment you have is definitely Asus-specific. Which brand would be better overall?
