That's acceptable, just set the 1023 lock and confirm

Your CPU lacks an on-chip voltage regulator. The FIVR isn't available. Apply the default 28-second turbo limit. Keep SpeedStep active or the processor could stall at reduced speed. Raise the Voltage ID to its maximum and review the Multiplier option. The N3540 was a power-saving model when it launched—it was built for email tasks, not gaming.

Choose throttle stop, navigate to settings, then in the PROCHOT Override section near the bottom right, adjust the value to 0 and activate it. The number you enter here will create a negative offset from your usual throttling temperature, resulting in a new thermal limit Z. Be cautious—lowering it too much could push your hardware beyond safe power limits instead of throttling, so proceed carefully. Now, throttle stop may not always offer options based on your motherboard and BIOS restrictions.

It might work as a trial. It seems the original poster could have changed their BIOS or firmware, which might be why it happened. If the manufacturer secured it, you probably won’t be able to fix it unless you can reverse the changes they made.

when you run a game for just a few minutes, performance drops sharply and the frame rate falls to around 1.1 fps, then further reduces to about 0.5 fps, making it impossible to play smoothly.
