Yesterday I tested Cinebench R20 with my CPU (i5-8300H). It scored 1175 points. When throttled, the temperature stayed at 71 degrees and TDP was 25 watts. All cores ran at 2.3GHz. After restarting, it jumped to 45.2W and 3.0GHz all the time—got 1435 points. Then it hit power limits again and dropped back to 2.3GHz. Need help improving my 30 FPS in SEUS shader for Minecraft. I believe reaching 30 FPS on that laptop with a costly shader in Minecraft will be challenging. Have you experimented with another shader pack? Perhaps a simpler one with fewer features could offer better performance while still providing a decent visual quality.

I run on Kuda and typically achieves around 40-50 FPS, though earlier on with lower CPU power settings it worked smoothly at 30-35 FPS.

@ItzMadMan An 8300H can score over 2000 points in Cinebench R20 when it is not throttling. Post some screenshots of how you have ThrottleStop setup. Make sure the FIVR - Disable and Lock Turbo Power Limits option is checked. Turn on the Log File option and go play a game for at least 15 minutes. When finished, exit the game and then exit ThrottleStop so it can finalize the log file. It will be in the ThrottleStop / Logs folder. Attach it to your next post or copy and paste the data to http://www.pastebin.com There might be a few clues in there. Some laptops will set or lock the power limits to one value when you first boot up. Doing a sleep resume cycle can magically unlock things or the opposite can happen if the power limits are not set correctly after resuming.

It's interesting that 2000 points looks good. The main issue seems to be the fan behavior, possibly linked to dust buildup. Thermal throttling might be happening, affecting performance during Cinebench R20. I noticed a drop in CPU speed when running at full thermal throttle, and it sounds like the AC adapter could be the culprit. My last Cinebench R20 score was 3.1 GHz all cores, but it slowed to 2.9 GHz while still doing the test. Battery performance also seems impacted. I have a cooling pad, but it's not working well. Running at overclocked fan speeds helps, but it’s frustrating.

Hey team, I fixed the issue and turned it back on. Thanks for your help! Maybe I’ll get a new cooling pad or consider buying a new laptop since my current one’s ankle is damaged. Appreciate the support!
