Throttling CPU power limits
Throttling CPU power limits
I've experienced issues with my system during gameplay. It would automatically switch to an extreme performance mode, causing the CPU frequency to lock at 800 MHz after switching back to balanced settings. After using Intel Extreme Tuning Utility, the CPU throttled down immediately without any thermal throttling. Running AIDA64 Extreme for an hour showed the hottest core reached 77°C while all cores averaged around 70°C. In games like Modern Warfare Multiplayer (1920x1080p, 144Hz, ultra settings), my FPS became quite unstable. I'm using an i7-10700K stock Corsair 240mm H100i Pro 16GB RAM DDR4 with GS Trident Z 3600 CL16 and an MSI Magma RX 850W Gold PCIe 4.0 motherboard on Windows 10 Home, with all drivers updated and BIOS current.
It looks like Dragon Center mainly serves to enhance RGB settings rather than offering significant benefits. It was likely added just for that purpose.
Hello, your issue with power throttling in Dragon Center is common under certain settings. The 9900K throttles when custom and balanced profiles are active, but it works fine with Extreme performance. It seems the profile selection affects the throttle behavior. Did removing the program resolve the problem for you?
