I gathered three identical 8GB RAM modules. I’m curious about the impact of adding a third one—would it really make a noticeable difference in performance? Someone with expertise might be able to clarify.

It doesn't improve your performance much. Perhaps if you render or edit often. Otherwise, it won't make a difference at all.

You'd experience no significant improvement in nearly all aspects.

I don't really think there is any performance hit to having 3 sticks of ram instead of 4, if you can please consider buying the 4th stick so you can take advantage of quad channel memory. as for the performance boost of having 3 sticks, its really no different unless you are doing something that uses a fair bit of ram *cough couch 15 chrome tabs cough cough*

It varies. With dual channel support, performance drops significantly; with triple channel (legacy Intel) it offers a minor improvement. The outcome really depends on the situation.

Quad channel works only when the CPU has built-in support for it. Only specific chipsets such as X299 and Threadripper offer this feature, while standard connectors like LGA1151 or AM4 can still function because their memory controllers allow dual-channel operation.

Haha, it seems you've been using four 4GB drives instead of two 8GB ones for better speed... guess I'll let it out now.

Using four sticks in a dual-channel setup won’t cause issues, but adding three in a dual-channel CPU will limit performance to single-channel mode. The performance drop is only noticeable with three sticks.
