I was hesitant about creating a Rockstar account but felt compelled once I realized I had to do it. I set one up, though linking it to my Steam account remains an issue—it keeps prompting me each time I log in. When Rockstar shuts down servers for Max Payne 3, the game should still be playable, as servers haven’t fully gone offline yet; you wouldn’t be completely out of options.

If the servers are offline, I think the best option is to stick with LAN and your friends. I finished the campaign last week and removed it right away after the game since the MP servers weren’t working!

Just install the file for the game, issue is resolved. If you manage to locate the cheat only you can use, you avoid any issues and skip the usual tricks. This doesn’t involve multiplayer features, but it lets you play when servers are offline (though some versions still work with multiplayer, which can be complicated). When servers shut down because they’re managed by developers, the game becomes unusable unless you have the cracks. Consider titles that require an internet connection to play as a paid version since you might lose access later... unless you get the hacks.
