Hey there… I’m really stuck on this. I’ve checked several sites about getting my 4x NVMe PCIe adapter to work in RAID on my X399. From the pictures, I have a 4TB array in RAID0 set up in the BIOS. I downloaded the latest RAID X399 NVMe drivers and tried installing them through the Windows installer multiple times. Still, Windows only shows one of the drives in the installation window. I’m confident I should see all four drives, but the size of each drive stays the same. I’ve double-checked the drivers are installed in the right order and nothing changes. Anyone else have faced this issue? I’m trying to set up a 7TB system on a Zenith Extreme with a 2950x and two 1TB drives on DIMM2 plus the boot drive next to the PCH. Any tips would be super helpful!
I located several options that could assist with your problem. As per the first source, you can download the newest AMD RAIDXpert2 package to get the NVMe RAID driver and management tools. It’s also recommended to update your BIOS on your AMD X399 motherboard to enable NVMe RAID support. Additionally, adding two or more NVMe SSDs to your system would be beneficial. I’m a bit behind the latest updates for that board, but NVMe RAID is already available. I plan to start the initialization after Windows is fully installed and updated. Then I’ll use the raid xpert tool in Windows to attempt setting up RAID0. Since I’m not getting good results via BIOS, I’ll give it another try. If that fails, I’ll switch to 3TB for now…
Progress is being made… I retrieved the raid drivers from the zenith product page. Loading the rcbottom driver now clears all drives on the Windows install screen. But when installing the RC RAID controller driver, I’m stuck at the install screen. The green progress bar keeps flashing.
Ensure the raid volume is configured as GPT, not MBR. For a 2 TB limit, proceed with the Windows install disk selection. At the screen, choose "Load driver" and locate the unpacked raid drivers stored in a directory on the install USB.
The instructions aren<|pad|>, you can’t find a section to adjust the volume type.
it's a microsoft setting. so only in windows.. so forget about it for now.. if you only see 2TB after install that's what you have to change. so when you see all those drives.. that you shouldn't see.. you should probably turn the physical disk off that you show in the last picture.. but ok.. select load driver and load the raid driver previously mentioned. after loading them, you should see the 4TB volume too. EDIT: if you ever need to update firmware on them you can enable to show physical disks on.. or you won't be able unless you break the raid up. (i think) I have that problem on my raid..
