Thoughts on G2A
Purchased a Watchdogs key recently, but it was deactivated by uplay due to fraud. It’s been roughly a month now, and G2A hasn’t responded at all. No refund—this was bought from a seller who typically sells around 20k keys. The price was only about $5, which doesn’t justify the hassle anymore. This was my first and also my final purchase from G2A.
I thought a poor rating was inevitable. I was really hoping for something better.
I purchased some keys from them. Most are fine, but two had issues—one for Windows 8.1 license and another for Outlast—that got blocked six months after purchase because they were blacklisted. I usually look for better deals on Steam, Origin, or other supported platforms rather than relying solely on community offers. The prices are reasonable, though it does carry some risk.
1. The site is reliable when purchased from a reputable seller; it offers buyer protection in case the key isn’t received.
2. You’re purchasing complete games, not just the keys.
3. If you only want the keys, you can get them via email—this has happened before.
Other notes: I’ve sold around five keys and it’s a good way to earn extra cash. I also bought several games there with smooth transactions. Avoid buying on social media or ads promising "5 keys for $1"—those are usually outdated games from over ten years ago.
Let the post wait a bit, so more folks can share their thoughts—positive or negative. I purchased from G2A based on a friend’s recommendation; while a few issues arose, most items work well if you buy from reputable sellers. Still, I was cautious about buying from third parties, and one problem really showed my concerns were valid.
Twice the cost? Roughly five times the price. The price gap for Windows 8.1 MS Store is $119.99. Reddit MSSoftwareSwap is listed at $20.00. Although you might face problems later, the sellers have been around for three years with solid ratings. The keys appear genuine—you can get an ISO file directly from Microsoft—but they could have been obtained improperly or without a valid license. This post comes from someone explaining why such items might be questionable.
