Those ranking systems in War Thunder are frustrating.
Hey there! I've been playing War Thunder for a while now, and I think I've gotten better at tanks lately. My current British tank setup includes the Crusader Mk III, Matilda Mk II, Churchill Mk I, and Cromwell V, which means my top rating is 3.3 on the Churchill. But War Thunder says I should be able to handle T-34s from 1957—those are rated 4.0! That’s a big difference. Dafuq, am I supposed to do something special when they say I can take them in one shot even with my Churchill? I don’t use the Churchill myself, honestly—it looks really bad. Help me out! How am I supposed to stop those upsets? Thanks a lot! -EnergyEclipse
Focus on improving your key areas. Pay attention to turret rings, mg ports, and driver viewports, among others.
lower tier british tanks are usually ineffective, I think you should break them down completely. a tank can be upgraded to a high-end version for just one basic point (1.0), allowing you to handle 4.3 effectively.
The number 57 refers to the Zis-4 cannon, not the year. Everyone handles it with a slight adjustment and it works just fine. You're not an outlier in this game. Even the backup Tetrarch can defeat T34s from 500 meters away. If you struggle against armor, try flanking, breaching, or ask someone to assist.
I’ve taken out the Churchill by sending its crew away, which seems to have fixed most problems. Still, I sometimes run into KV-1s, but my Cromwell can usually handle them if they get a few clever turret hits—similar to what the Crusader does. Just a quick note, though: have you actually played the Tetrarch before mentioning it can defeat a T-34? It feels like a tough challenge for a car with tracks and a cannon.
