This setup offers solid performance for gaming and productivity tasks. The Q8400 with its 2.6GHz quad-core processor and 8GB RAM should handle GTA V, AC Unity, and League of Legends smoothly. The GTX 960 provides decent graphics for the time, though newer games may feel a bit limited. If you're not building anything, this configuration is a good balance of power and cost.

You're using an I3 3220 with an ASUS GTX 670 and managing to run GTA V smoothly at medium to high settings.

I’d prefer the G3258 over the Q8400. There seems to be a stronger AMD option near that price point. However, I haven’t purchased any AMD parts yet, so I’m not sure.

You haven't purchased it yet; the R7 265 offers better performance than the 960, though 2.6ghz could be too slow for GTA5. I haven't experimented with running games at that low speed before.

The R7 265 offers similar performance to the 960, while being more comparable to the 750TI rather than the 960. The R9 280/x lineup matches up with the 960. It's usually wiser to choose a 280x over a 960 since the price jump is around $10 for better speed.

In that scenario, the optimal chipset matches the socket. You might also find a budget microATX Z97 card for a low price now. But using it would also need a fresh Windows key.

A friend can help me get Windows for free, but I’m missing a CPU.

The G3258 is genuinely more affordable compared to the Q8400. You might allocate the saved funds toward a budget-friendly motherboard.

Absolutely, I can manage to find a Q8400 for just 40 euros.
