I'm unsure about the legality, but my 2017 MacBook Air runs smoothly with Ventura openCore and great battery performance. I'm curious if anyone knows how to install OpenCore on unsupported Macs like Sonoma+. The site mentions active development, but I don't understand how others managed it. If this isn't acceptable, please remove it or warn me. Thanks for your help.
Beta in opencore refers to testing a complete mac OS version. With Tahoe being out for nine days, it’s no surprise they haven’t released a beta yet. Typically, full releases take months. Tahoe also poses challenges because of its GPU acceleration approach and significant differences on unsupported Mac GPUs. If you have an Intel HD6000 graphics card, getting it will be very slow—often resulting in a stable release for these models. There’s also a high likelihood you won’t find a working version at all. Right now, most HD6000 attempts lead to major system failures.
Thank you for your response. I'll just keep an eye on it until Ventura gets less support. I didn't realize the HD 6000 had problems on unsupported Macs. Probably we'll have to wait and see what OpenCore does with Tahoe when they release updates.
