They might work, but isn’t there pre-installed WiFi in the laptop? If it’s only 2.4GHz, checking if the card can be swapped would probably be a wiser choice.

They continue to overheat and shut down quickly. I've noticed numerous complaints about USB Wi-Fi devices. That's why I advise against using them.
